Dolakha: With Coronavirus wreaking havoc across the world, the death toll from the novel virus has climbed to 154, 126 after 8,653 people died in the last 24 hours as of Saturday morning.
According to the latest figures collated by Worldometer, with 85, 670 new cases, the number of infection cases has reached 2, 248,037.
Currently, 1,533,119 people are undergoing treatment at various hospitals across the world, of which 56, 967 are critical.
Meanwhile, 570,792 have returned home after treatment.
The United States of America (USA), the worst-hit in terms of both deaths and infection cases, has witnessed 2, 516 deaths in the last 24 hours, taking the tally to 37, 135 as of Saturday morning.
With 31, 631 new cases, the number of infection cases has reached 709, 201 according to Worldometer.
Currently, 612,069 coronavirus patients are undergoing treatment at various hospitals across America, of which the condition of 13, 509 is critical. Meanwhile, 59,997 have recovered after treatment.
New York is the worst-hit with 17, 131 deaths followed by New Jersey and Michigan with 3,840 and 2, 227 deaths, respectively.
The US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) had declared Coronavirus a public health emergency on January 31 in the US.
Italy, the second worst-hit country in terms of deaths, has witnessed 575 deaths in the last 24 hours, taking the total tally to 22,745 as of Saturday morning.
